Co-Founder
Stephen Carr co-founded Manufacturing & Technical Services, Inc. in 1986 alongside Edward Waddell, bringing a strong metallurgical background and extensive knowledge of forging practices to the business. Since the company's establishment in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Stephen has helped guide MTS Forge's growth into a recognized industry leader serving aerospace, defense, commercial nuclear, and power generation sectors. His expertise in material science and forging methodology has been instrumental in developing MTS Forge's rigorous quality assurance programs, including compliance with NCA 3800 and Mil Q9858, ensuring that every component — including high-performance Inconel 625 flanges — meets the exacting standards demanded by critical industries.
Co-Founder
Edward Waddell co-founded MTS Forge in 1986 alongside Stephen Carr, with the shared vision of delivering high-quality forging solutions to America's most demanding industries. Edward's metallurgical background and deep understanding of forging practices have shaped the company's technical culture and commitment to precision manufacturing. Based in Coatesville, PA, Edward has played a central role in building MTS Forge's capabilities in specialty alloy forgings — including Inconel 625 flanges for nuclear and aerospace customers — and in developing the in-house tooling, heat treatment, and machining infrastructure that sets MTS Forge apart as a full-service domestic forging supplier.
Inconel 625 forgings and flanges are governed primarily by ASTM B564 (UNS N06625), which covers nickel alloy forgings for corrosion-resistant applications. For pipe flanges specifically, ASME B16.5 and B16.47 define dimensional and pressure-temperature ratings. The material may also be referenced under ASME SB-564 for nuclear and pressure vessel code compliance.
Our metallurgical and forging experts are ready to help you find the right solution for your application.
