Co-Founder
Stephen Carr co-founded Manufacturing & Technical Services, Inc. (MTS Forge) in 1986 alongside Edward Waddell, building the company from the ground up on the twin pillars of quality and customer service. With a formal metallurgical background and decades of hands-on forging experience, Stephen brings deep material science knowledge to every product MTS Forge manufactures. His expertise spans alloy steels, stainless steels, and high-performance materials used in ASME flange and pressure vessel component production. Under his leadership, MTS Forge has developed a robust Quality Assurance Program meeting Mil I 45208, NCA 3800, and Mil Q9858 standards, positioning the company as a trusted supplier to the commercial nuclear, defense, and power generation industries across the United States.
Co-Founder
Edward Waddell co-founded MTS Forge in 1986 with a shared vision of delivering high-quality forging solutions to America's most demanding industries. Like his partner Stephen Carr, Edward brings a strong metallurgical foundation and extensive practical knowledge of forging processes — from closed die and contour forging to the specialized production of ASME flanges and pressure vessel components. Edward's commitment to innovation and excellence has driven MTS Forge's continuous investment in cutting-edge forging technology and in-house capabilities including heat treatment and rough machining. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing MTS Forge as a recognized forging industry leader serving aerospace, defense, commercial nuclear, and power generation customers across Pennsylvania, Iowa, Kentucky, and Texas.
MTS Forge produces flanges in accordance with ASME standards applicable to pressure vessel and piping systems, supported by our comprehensive Quality Assurance Program covering Mil I 45208, NCA 3800, and Mil Q9858. We maintain full material and process traceability to meet the documentation requirements mandated by ASME code compliance in nuclear and power generation applications.
